Women’s Lunch Place

Members of our Boston office got together and volunteered at the Women’s Lunch Place, a day shelter serving homeless women in the greater Boston area. Opening its doors 35 years ago, the shelter began serving hot lunches three times a week. That has now grown to six times a week, serving healthy breakfasts and lunches in a safe and friendly environment. Additionally, the shelter provides services and basic necessities to the women in need. Some of these services include art classes, yoga classes and full access to their resource center/library for computer and telephone use. Women’s Lunch Place can see up to 200 women a day, which means lots of food prep and cleaning. From chopping peppers to serving spaghetti, team OneBeacon was there to help!
